Ghost
Your presence lurks,
In the hallways to the bedroom,
There’s no escaping the pain,
I miss you,
When will you miss me?
The days pass by,
Agonizing by the minute,
Tearing my mind by the second,
When will you be back?
Months since our last embrace,
Your muscles contracting around me,
Your sweet cinnamon skin,
Our worries vanishing,
When will we hug again?
I’d hold you close,
Close enough to hear my heartbeat,
Hear what the mind cannot say,
You are all I need,
When will this nightmare end?
Wherever you are,
Run towards my trail,
To a place called home.
