Adrift
My mind is a river
Always leading to the ocean
To something even bigger
Yet made of emotion
My thoughts are like water
Coursing through the earth
So full of power
Claiming, changing its turf
Winding around
Rushing water white
Crafting the ground
Daring to take flight
At times the river is deep
Yet the tide's too fast
As I sink into sleep,
I swim in the time passed
The water rolls downhill
But cannot turn around
It is never still
Cannot slow down
The ideas have impact
Creating canyons over time Can destroy our bring back
Give everything a life Sometimes I drift
Along the lazy stream
My thoughts give me a lift
While I am left to dream
