“Sing like no one's listening, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody's watching, and live like its heaven on earth.” ~ Mark Twain

I close my eyes and drift away,

seeing memories from yesterday.

You and I laying by the sea,

think of what could be.

5 years later I'm alone and afraid,

trying to find a way to fade.

~

Now I am flying like a bird flys,

high above to see the crys.

You look up and see me flying,

I look down and you're not crying.

Now I am back on the beach,

trying to talk but failing speech.

The author's comments:

I wrote this poem straight from the heart. You never know when you'll see someone again. You could be in a fight with a loved one and say the most hurtful things and leave it at that then something bad could happen to them and you never got a chance to apologize and say I love you. Always remember that the most painful goodbyes are the ones that never got to be said or explained.

Very great job! I like the imagery and I can tell your message. I like the line spacing. I feel that it fits the mood and tone of the poem. I also enjoy the line spacing because it really fits the poem along with the symbol. Again, great job, please keep writing, and God bless! :)
