I come from the smell of lemongrass
A makeshift rope swing
Under a weeping willow
The smell after the rain
Blooming, vibrant tulipss

I come from sunburnt noses

Tan lines
Melted ice cream
Long, starry nights
Flip flops
Scraped knees
And gooey s’mores

I come from cold, crisp mornings
The shrieks of frightened people
Cold apple cider
Leaf piles
Whipped cream
on pumpkin pie

I come from pink flushed cheeks
Untouched, virgin snow
The smell of pine needles
Frosted sugar cookies
The crackles and pops of a fire
On Christmas Eve
