Never Take Me Back MAG
Never take me back
To the days of confusion,
Where we couldn’t tell the difference
Between diva and darling.
Where teardrops hung
Like mistletoe,
From the eyes of fate’s predator,
Calling us to join.
Screaming “liar!” to the void
On the bathroom floor,
Waiting, hoping
For a kiss of sunlight
To hit our cheeks,
Blush-stained and puffy,
Revealing freckles,
Like stars in the moonlit sky.
Bring me to days of clarity,
Where my skin is mine,
Not that of porcelain dolls,
In corset dresses
And glass slippers.
Give me the skin
Of a long lost friend
Called individuality,
That grew from the ash.
