Flower
Your fear
is learned, dear
and well deserved
even if queer -
Still, you cannot grow
if you're too afraid to show
how you truly feel
and all you really know -
You are a flower
and you hold so much power
but strength comes in embracing the storm
instead of waiting for it to blow over.
After all, how else
would you be watered?

I wrote this for my amazing girlfriend; in my darkest times, you've given me strength. I hope I can do the same for you in this poem.
