Ray of hope
I simmer over the lakes and oceans,
Dance along the waves and ripples
I kiss cold mountain snow
And peek at the damp earth, past the ungrateful foliage
I shine over the roses and their thorns,
Soft filoplume , hard stone
I vanish over the horizon and
Reflect over the aspiring artist’s canvas
I’m the flickering ambition of desert travelers,
When the world enters a slow motion,
And even a straightedge appears bent
I show them mirages, till it mirrors reality
I shine over the shoulders of sweating workers
Pierce the skins of brutal
And sometimes
I hide behind the clouds
Beyond the turmoil and tears
Allow the embarrassed hide their faces
I look at the world with affection
See the determination in the eyes of the little boy,
Who thinks he can stare me down
With a chubby cupped palm or priced shades
Or glow on the faces of selfiee lovers
Who humor me with their weird pouts
I expose the blush on lovers’ cheeks
I witness their happy hearts
I kiss softly, the eyelids of sleeping babies,
Bring them back from the la la land
Rise dear its morning!
I cast exquisite shadows of the lady’s high heels
And sometimes sand castles or lumps of nothing
I bring the companion of every lone traveler
I explore the colours in the wet hairs of bathroom singers
Red, gold, bronze!
In the transparent finery of spider web
VIBGYOR and zillions more
I’ve seen happy endings of tragedies
And tragedies of a good start
Some eternal bliss or otherwise
I radiate the truth on the stained nibs
That tries to define the exact shade of my orange
From the coldest of winters
I bring back an invincible summer
I’m one in a million
And one of a million
I’m a ray of hope
A ray of sun!
