My Life

Somehow it got into my room.
I found it, and it was, naturally trapped.
It was nothing
more than a frightened animal.
Since then
I raised it up.
I kept it for myself,
kept it in my room
kept it for its own good.
I named the animal,
my life.
When I was little,
I was scared and confused.
I hardly knew anything
and could only say a few words.
As I became older,
I matured
and was taught many things
by my parents, friends, and school.
“It” always followed me.
“It” was there when I was sad,
when I was stressed,
even when I was asleep.
Whenever I had a big meet or a test,
that spirituality was always there.
But when I leave “It” alone,
bad things can happen.
Anxiety and panic may creep in.
So my only option is to embrace it,
live it,
and love it.
It’s wonderful if used right,
but can kill you if used wrong.
