Love Sucks
I saw the way you looked
At her that day, like
She was the air you needed
To breathe in when you
Couldn’t. I saw the way you
Stared into her eyes and
Didn’t want to look away because
You said you saw galaxies
Deep within them. I saw the way
When you held her hand, you
Squeezed tight so there wouldn’t
Be any space between you both. I
Saw the way you loved her. I saw
The way she never did.
I saw the way she broke you when
She started kissing another
Guy. I saw the way you crippled
With anger when you heard
Her say his name. I saw the
Way you looked at her with
Hate boiling in your eyes because
You still loved her, and she had
Someone else. I saw the way
You would write her name on a
Piece of paper and use it as an
Ash tray and burned it over and over
Again.
And I remember so well when
You started to wear long sleeves
In the summer. I remember how
You would call me at 4AM
Unable to breathe and on the floor
Because without her you weren’t
Able to function. I remember
All the blood you spilled on the
Floor. I remember you yelling
How she left even after you
Fixed her. I remember all
The hate you had deep
Inside you and you didn’t take
It out on anyone but yourself. I
Remember it all.
