The Kitchen Is Hot
Don't you know the kitchen is hot?
All you seem to consider are the meals that frequently
Leave the kitchen on an honest platter
Served to you with tough love written on napkins
You wait with a knife and fork for your belly to be filled
At the same time every day, every week
Don't you know the kitchen is hot?
Do you realize that flames roar and oil splattters
Hot oil leaves stains on garments and burns on skin
Don't you know that cooking demands staying on your feet
Don't you know that bending over breaks your back
Do you realize that cooking includes washing dishes
Cleaning spills because the kitchen must stay clean
Real food isn't microwaved, real food takes time
Real food is made with love
He loves cooking and giving it to you so you won't starve
But sometimes it would be nice if someone else could cook
For a change
Because the kitchen, it is, really hot
