Seven Thirty
7:30 AM
Cereal tastes of flesh,
Realizing I’m chewing my nails.
Anxiety is the most
Important meal of the day.
7:30 PM
Mom and Dad are there.
My brother, too.
A slight clink of a fork,
Is the only “hello” or
“How was your day” I hear.
7:30 AM
Where’s my food?
An emptiness rings
Throughout my cabinets.
7:30 PM
Mom’s here, no dad.
Brother’s here, but
Not mentally.
No one pushes
Their chairs in.
7:30 AM
Windows are open;
It’s raining.
No one is there.
7:30 PM
Tv dinner, half-heated-up,
Eaten in my room.
Everyone’s out.
7:30 AM
All that’s left is mom,
And her stale coffee.
Expressionless
She sits in isolation.
7:30 PM
Me, my thoughts,
And emptiness.
Everyone is gone,
Will anyone be back
At 7:30 for breakfast?
