How does one write?
“How do you write?”
It spills.
“Spills?”
Why in the way you might accidently spill
Coffee
So that it stains your shirt
And splatters
And splashes in such
a gloriously unpredictable manner;
It spills.

A question that every writer possibly hears at some point is "how do you write?"
I used to be speechless whenever someone would ask me this, and I'd simply reply with a bemused "I just do."
But one day, my clumsiness caused my arm to knock over a glass of water, causing it to 'splatter and splash in an unpredictable manner'. This made me see this extremely odd similarity between the concept of how one writes, and the 'spilling' of water/coffee out of a glass, and thus, this poem was born.
