Me: Then and Now
I've spent too many years at war with myself,
confused and hating my reflection.
I've spent too much time feeling guilty,
ashamed of those rare moments of confidence.
I've spent too many mornings worrying about my clothes, my hair, my make up,
nervous about how people perceive me.
But now I'm done with feeling bad for feeling good.
I'm going to take all the selfies I want,
I'm going to smile as I stare you down,
I'm going to wear what I want to wear.
Cause who are you to have an opinion
about what makes me feel like I can finally take on the world
and win?
