Beauty Image
They look at me in wonder
They look down at me sometimes
Be careful of your eye gazes
I am a field full of mines.
Yes I am different,
Does it bring terror to your hearts?
I am a world full of wonders
Describing me? Oh… where would I even start?
I am not afraid to walk this road alone
You can never take away my throne
My glory comes from within
You see... I love myself; I am comfortable in my own skin
I do not conform to your madness
You will not drag me to the hole of sadness
I rise above your hate.
I am not the numbers of my weight
I stopped being blind
I am me, and it is more than enough
I will walk this bumpy road on my own
You see… I stopped being blind
I will never be left behind
I love myself; I am comfortable in my own skin
Leave your standards to you
I am me, there's nothing that you can do
I am beautiful, smart, and kind
Thank god I am no longer blind.

I was motivated to write this peom by all the different theories that I've read regarding beauty image and its impacts on girls and women in general. I wrote this poem to reinforce the idea that women should love themselves as they are and that beauty comes from within
