Ahh.
So now we've switched places.
Who do you remember best?
Which one of our faces?

It's not a competition
But I miss you most
I dream of you nightly
While you were at the coast.

I remember-
Sometimes when I'd hug you
I could smell perfume on your throat
Making me think hungry thoughts
Wanting to take you somewhere remote.

I remember-
Your denial and acceptance;
Your romantic self destruction
How together, masochists,
We would burn without instruction.

I remember-
Ratty t-shirts and morning embraces
Your perfect watermelon smile
Young guitar with shaky notes
And running 6th grade miles.

I remember...
The cool touch of your pen on my knuckles
Despising the Diamond Ring
Tenancies of empty stomachs,
Pills you didn't know I knew of,

When,

Old friend,

I remember everything.
