Still-born
There is no screaming
No crying
Only the hustle of seasoned nurses and doctors rushing around you
They've seen it all too many times before
She lies still in your arms
The most beautiful shade of blue you've ever seen

This poem is about my own birth. I was born premature with lungs that were not fully formed. I was doing okay in the breathing department until my grandmother got there. She says I was the "most beautiful shade of blue" she's ever seen.
