Nile River
Wings. Autumn lifted leaves back to their branches
into a sea of salt, definitions lost their
tiny torsos. Letters blurred until they dissolved
When the snowflake spread its wings
suddenly everything reversed
the chills of fear left
the tears slid upwards
a gust of wind poured into a warm autumn roast
and the snowflake lost its meanings, and
the crisp scent of winter blended
a chill into the hearts
the brave ones, eager children, whose extended
arms pleaded for a biscuit
their fine borders, definitions made of the brave
Everything
folded back toward sense. eyelashes
groped for closure
tears slid down cheeks
and into the eyes of crisp letters
there is no end.

This is a cutout poem- I wrote and then cut the words apart, reconstructing them into this version.
