It Hurts
The eyelashes pressing furiously into my eyelids, they hurt.
The steam mill in my chest with incomparable speed, it hurts.
The demeaning happiness leaving your mouth and thrashing around my skull, it hurts.
Please, stop speaking, stop breathing.
Stop living because now I’m hurting.
It’s you; you’re hurting me.
Why have you chosen a new life, a new family?
Was I not perfect, like your God says I am?
You’re different now and it’s killing me inside.
Before I die I must return home.
Stop pulling me back, leave me to cry.
I need to scream loud because the pain, it hurts.
