Lonely temptress of the sea
Your serene song beckons me
No voice as bittersweet
Mixed with anger and agony
No hum is as peaceful
As your own tranquility
Young lass, young girl
Show your ragged teeth
You’re a nuisance in this world
A deadly beauty to meet
A man thinks he is a weapon
A force you cannot reckon
But see now if he is sane
Once in the eye of the hurricane
Silent temptress of the sea
You are more than a myth
For darkness lies within
Dimmer than any ebony
Cruel temptress of the sea
You are no beast but a young woman
Covered in misery
And the waves of the sea.
