Highway MAG
The sunlight dances on the crackled
dark gray asphalt, sparkling as it bounces off the windshield – a halo
of light streaming across across the listless trees that have
clung to the thread of warmth in
the bitter winter –
waking the wilted grass, which springs up,
bleached lively green stalks that sway with
the wind, which hums with exultation, rifling her hair with
kindred fingers, tangling the strands into
thousands
of interwoven knots –
As the car speeds down the lane.
