1:30 a.m.
Are we kindred spirits?
As I lay here
With the lights on
At 1:30 a.m. unable to sleep
Are you awake too?
And if I sent you a message
Would you want to talk?
At 1:30 a.m.
About our mutual agonies
The demons who keep us awake
And bind us together
And if you knew I loved you
Would you be afraid?
Would you run away from me and leave me to languish
In want of your touch?
Or would you steal away to the dark underbelly
Of the city
And wrap your ivory arms around me
Let me run my hands through your silky hair
Kiss your rosy lips
And maybe we can sleep
Together at 2 a.m.
