Past You
I walked past you today.
But I didn't stop and speak.
I walked past you today.
But I never looked your way.
Instead I looked everywhere but in your direction in hopes I wouldn't stop.
And when I knew you were gone, I felt my heart drop.
It dropped so hard, so loud, it echoed in the air.
I turned around to look at you and only caught a glimpse of your hair.
Remember when we saw each other we would stop and hug?
We would laugh and smile, stop to talk?
Where went all the love?
Now we can walk past each other and not say a word.
I walked past you today.
And it still really hurt.
