Together at Last
I see you there across the room,
Just waiting for me to make my move.
I see your soft edge’s invitation,
And I can’t help but feel the temptation.
But alas, I have homework to finish,
And chores to do before my mother screams.
I, too, do wish that we could finally be together,
It’s been a Romeo and Juliet love affair for as long as I remember.
Then, after what feels like centuries, the time is right.
And the moon breaks through the starry night.
Making your creamy color radiate
With the warmth that you generate.
And now I can walk over to you.
My heart beating fast with the anticipation that you bring.
Finally I can crawl up onto you and lay down my head.
Together at last: Me and My Bed.

What inspired me to write this piece was staying up until 3:30 am to study for AP testing and finals, and the feeling that came with it.
