Dandelions

Often I thought to myself as I laid in these lonely fields
These humble dandelions that surround me are not given enough credit
They are beautiful in their own way
They blow wherever the wind takes them not fighting unnecessarily
These dandelions are special
I thought to myself as I lie in this desolate place
The grass tickled my feet parting where I laid
The rain that fell washed away the pain
I felt none of the bitter wind
I was numb as the rain turned to slush around me
I knew it was probably cold but I felt nothing
Nothing but these dandelions around me
These dandelions

This piece just came to me one rainy evening. It started off as something just for myself and became much more.
