When do the Wars End?
When daydreams turn into nightmares,
and all of a sudden you're back there
In the trenches
running, counting bodies
One
Two
Three
All friends
All dead
A spray of bullets
More screams
More dread.
Snapping awake,
drenched in sweat
"Oh God, Oh God, Oh God."
Drifting back...
Boom!
One man
No legs
Pain
Blood
In shock.
Screams of
"Medic, Medic!"
Snapping awake,
a clap of thunder you mistook, for an IED
you flinch,
You're Home,
But you never left that place
The war never ended.

I have family in the military. This is something I feel strongly about, just because I feel for the soldiers that have had to go through the experience of being in a war.
