Paint
It’s crazy how much we actually care.
Words work their way into our minds
and never want to leave.
We’ll paint a picture so that nobody knows
how vulnerable we are to their
perception of us.
But paint fades away and the
cracks in our composure will
start to show.
Walls built by our need to “stay strong”
will be no more and we will finally
be free.
The chance may finally be ours
to love, to cry, to feel,
Unhidden.
