In the Rain, We Wear Stars MAG
Spring is like a cup of tea
that is still too hot to drink.
Fingers graze the surface,
pulling back with a sharp intake of breath;
eyes grow with shock and anticipation,
waiting
waiting
waiting.
The colors are seeping in,
we can see;
when they will be just right
depends on when each individual declares it so,
it’s time to drink the season
down
down
down.
Hot smell of earth rises,
and with it,
a gentle hand of steam
tracing our crumpled brows
reassuring that yes,
you have permission to
breathe
breathe
breathe.
