Love is

like a poison

that cannot

be cured.

It seeps into

your bloodstream

making you

weak and

vulnerable.

And as

pleasant as

it feels,

its killing

you from the

inside out

very slowly.

Making your heart

weaker and weaker

until it starts to shatter.

And all that's

left of your

heart is a pile

of broken pieces.

I like the stance you've taken on the topic of love; it feels more real than many of the other "love" poems that I've read on this site
