When My Own Mother Didn't
Momma,
You took me in,
and showed me love,
when my own mother didn't.
Showing me how to do my hair,
and what not to wear,
when my own mother didn't.
You listen when I wail about boys,
and the perils of girl drama,
when my own mother didn't.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is,
thank you for loving me,
when my own mother didn't.
