I'm Sorry
I can’t stop thinking about the past
Memories swimming freely
A moment in class I stare at the board
But the flashbacks invade my mind
And I stand in a mountain valley
And then float in a river
All the recollections
That my mind refuses to release
But with the past lies intertwined regrets
The look of the face slashed
By the knives of words
The time lost to a “Later I will”
Never able to be regained
And especially when the dark ceiling
Glares back while the blankets are twisted
I wish that I acted with more tact
I wish that I could say "I'm sorry"
But would it be enough?
