The Ambivalence
The praises
from the crowds
died down
to bare silence.
I've worked
for the promise of silver and gold,
only to find it tasted of
rubber
mixed with pain.
Fame played its music
and I would dance
with my hands in the air,
my worries disappearing.
My heart
became young and
my dreams
grew
vague.
Fame grew bored.
He only lingered for a moment,
almost uncertain,
and then floated away with the wind.

Fame is uncertain. It's something that I've come to understand. Some people put fame, pride, and glory as their top priorities. In my opinion, true treasures should be in the things that last for eternity.
