Nocturnal
My dead eyes scan

Dead with the sun
Unfortunately not with the moon
When the celestial orb reaches its height in the black velvet sky
The beast comes alive
It unfurls its claws
Tearing its way out of my stomach
The gruesome demon gnaws its way through my abdomen
Clambering out of my revolting gut ripping the flesh from my body
Its talons grip my hips tightly to keep me in place
To teach me a lesson
Holding me there because no one will see the marks it leaves behind
Tantalizing me with insecurity after insecurity
Not thin enough
Not smart enough
Not funny enough
Not worthy enough
Not enough
After the battle that the beast had obviously won
I fall onto my cold bed
Beaten, Broken, Bleeding
Close my eyes to find relief, only to find sleep
My dead eyes scan
the blinding sun
