I’ve worked all year, to get to this point.
The end is finally near, I cannot disappoint.
Working on all the techniques, listening to all the critiques,
I’ve been to all the lessons, I’ve learned it all.
I’ve done all the reading and the work,
Now all that’s left to do is dribble the ball.
My time has come; I am ready as can be,
To score the winning basket,
To get the victory.
My team has worked so hard.
I think, as I bring it up the court,
There is no turning back,
No chance to abort.
Forty minutes later, twenty baskets scored,
Here I am at the foul line; we need this to straight splash, not even touch backboard.
I release the shot, the follow through, it’s a sign.
It’s definitely in, no jokes this time.
That’s it, the buzzer sounds.
The cheers raise the roof; birds could hear it in the clouds.
That’s it, we’ve won the championship
No need to worry, everything is fine.
Not to mention, twenty two points from number twelve;
That number’s mine.

This piece talks about basketball, which is my favorite sport and my passion. Our season just finished up and we went undefeated, 16-0.
