Crescent Heart
I cannot remember when
A slice of my heart
Slipped accidentally
Into the crevices of
Your shadow
But now when I want it
To come back
It insists on staying
And following your reflection
Because it says it believes
Your friendly warmth might
Keep it preserved and safe
From the world's wintry days
So for now my dear Knave
Please keep that fraction
As it is now your humble slave
Till then keep it wrapped
In a bliss filled sheet
To ensure it does
Not crack further apart
When you hand it over to me
Again when we meet
