Peter Pan
Peter Pan came to my room one night
and whispered in my ear,
“Come and fly away, my love;
let’s get away from here.”
Peter Pan put my hand in his
and motioned to the sky,
“You can’t dream when you’re asleep;
follow me and fly.”
Peter Pan nudged me more and more
and tightened his grip on my hand,
“Why won’t you follow me, my dear?
I’ll guide you to Neverland.”
Peter Pan tried to push me out
with his whispers flying aplenty
but I was afraid and so I said,
“But Peter, I’m no Wendy.”
Peter Pan just shook his head
and breathed for me to try,
“Oh, my darling, yes you are;
I promise you will fly.”
Peter Pan led me out the window
and we soared through the night;
his eyes met mine and our fingers unlocked,
“You won’t fall if you’re in flight.”
