Without people adding their hate.

People think my life is so great,

But your mean words are a big mistake.

Next time you're thinking of being unkind,

just think, you may find,

you are utterly blind,

to what's going on in my mind.

I may not be 'just fine'.

I am lost in the pain,

and i've got a cloud, and all it does is rain!

You cannot see the workings of my brain,

Even though i look okay.

I fake a smile,

all while,

your mouth runs a mile.

saying those things that are so vile.

Just think about those scars on my arms,

about what led me to self harm.

What about those marks from a lighter that got too warm?

Wonder why I don't eat?

Its because I'm afraid for getting beat,

of getting fat and facing the heat

of your words, as terrible as spoiled meat.

Why do you stand and watch him hit me?

Don't you see,

He's a bully,

and he's taking his fee...

You don't know what i have to face,

when I go to home to a terrible place.

My life is not filled with grace,

it's a surviving race.

Who'll quit first,

me, and the abuse gets worse?

or my attacker, so I'll avoid the hearse?

what's going in my head,

at home,

or anything else...
