I still recall the sound of the rain,
Lit through the window at 12: 58
The words that you whispered for just me to know,
You told me you loved me, so why are you going?
Wait.
Please wait.
I still recall the look on your face,
The day that you told me you found out too late
Or the sound of your heart that 29th,
It jumped through your shirt; I can still feel your arms.
Wait.
Please wait.
I still recall now, the sound of your voice
That day you told me it wasn’t your choice
Cancer don’t discriminate, or care if you’re just 18
I thought we’d always be a team.
Wait.
Just please wait.
So now they tell me, don’t get in too deep
But I know I’ll love you ‘till you sleep
And when you’ve taken your last breath
I know I’ll wish it was me instead
I guess…it’s too late for you to wait.
