I am angry
I need to vent
Listen if you want to
Listen if you dare
Because people take me for granted
And I was fine with it
Before
It was just 'being nice'
'Being generous'
But not anymore
I am sick
And tired
Of the hypocrites saying we're friends
Saying thank you
Saying lies
Is it wrong I want some recognition
I want a little credit
Just a sliver of respect
But they keep saying I'm selfish
They're the selfish ones

I use the pronoun 'I' but this is actually about someone else. They are probably the sweetest person you'll ever meet by they don't speak up for themselves. I see them boiling inside, but never bubbling over.

Thank you! I agree, people don't really notice it, they just take it for granted.

This is a lovely poem, the topic is such a common thing that people do, but no one really knows about it most of the time. great structure and flow in your poem.
