A Matter of Confidence
A quiet girl sits alone,
In the corner of a darkened room;
The room that is hidden from the world;
A room full of darkness, loneliness, and fear.
This girl starting high school is bundle of nerves
With a heart full of fear,
A heart so scared to take that leap of faith.
This girl scared to death,
all because of the lack of trust in Jesus Christ.
The trust that is necessary
To be the girl full of love,
To be the Christian girl and servant,
God made her to be.
The girl scared to do the simplest task,
The fear ceasing her ability to talk in class,
And deliver a one-minute presentation,
Grows deeper and deeper,
resulting in no voice and a limited faith by the tenth grade.
This girl moved by the renewed youth group;
after years of living in a dark and hidden room.
The tears streaming down her cheeks,
as the love of Jesus embraces her.
Her new-found confidence;
Her new-found faith;
pushed her on to do great things.
The girl now confident in herself,
Full of love and compassion,
is now capable of that leap of faith.
The grade 11 girl,
Confident and on fire for Jesus Christ,
Obtains no fear in her heart.
She goes on to begin talking in class;
Learning how to swim;
And using a chainsaw.
Her faith is renewed; it now has a meaning;
It is no longer dead.
She has now the confidence
to be who God made her to be
This girl is in progress,
is changing into a beautiful creation.
The creation now claiming,
Jesus is real in her life.
Hi, my name is Katie. I am a believer in Jesus Christ. That girl is e and that is my story. He is changing me into a thing of beauty. In my life, God is First, and I am second.
