The Human Experience
I'm surrouned by voices
(the ones I do not want to listen to)
their nasally, nagging voices
Bragging,
saying words I want to ignore
but even if I cover my ears
their voices continue to rise,
I surrender.
I'm surrounded by people
(who I had hoped to never meet)
that push and shove my body,
touching me,
never letting me ignore them
even when I close my eyes
their arms grab and push against me.
I surrender
I decide to surrender
to what people call "the human experience"
I do not care for it
(I hope it ends, soon)
because I feel myself
being lost in this sea of voices and bodies
yelling, pushing
everyone fighting to be heard, to be seen
I think I'll just stand still,
I won't be yelling, touching.
I have surrendered to this "human experience."
