I Understand
I’ve never met a person who has denied the fact that her appearance resembles that of summer.
It incorporates every element- the heat at three o’clock in the afternoon is present in her hair,
the soft glow of the twilight can be seen in her eyes, and her skin appears to be a metaphor for the
vibrant colors that change every thirty seconds in a perfect sunset.
It’s funny how my favorite part of her is what scares me the most. I’ll never understand that.
And she tells me these lies (“’join the club!’ they yelled”) which made me so confused.
I found the perfect song to represent her- something about not understanding.
But when she tells me these lies, and breaks her promises, I think to myself,
‘I understand.’
