Distress
No one understands,
no one ever can.
I shut them out,
like they had me.
The past is in the past
they say.
How is this true?
Pain still curdles inside,
so how is this true?
Hate builds up around clocks,
slowing down time.
Forgive and forget, but no one regrets?
Problems still linger,
as they always do,
we can’t get out of this goo.
The past is in the past
they say,
but this, will never be true.
