What Is Love?

Love is putting someone's needs before yours
Love is that chill you get every time  you see your special someone
Love is still feeling that special spark whenever they touch you, even after years
Love is not caring about looks
Love is seeing what's inside
Love is feeling at peace
Love is always feeling wanted
Love is feeling a constant shield of safety
But love is pain

And that is what I felt
That day, June 14 2013
Standing at his porch, waiting
Waiting to see this guy
This guy whom I've been talking to for awhile
This guy who I feel something deeper with
Then he walks out
That look in his eyes
The feeling of my heart dropping
My heart beat getting faster and faster until...
He grabs me
Embraces me in his arms as if we were long lost friends
That is love
But love is pain

And where is this guy now?
Hiding beneath the million broken pieces of my shattered heart
Loving another girl 
While I sit and bleed drops of sorrow
While I sit and break
While I sit and slowly go crazy at the thought of him
And he sits there and watches  
I guess love isn't always mutual
But love is also pain
