Eating Disorder
She told me it’s like being trapped in a cage
One you can’t escape from
No matter how hard you bang at the bars or fiddle with the lock
You are forever enclosed in a mucky world dripping with fractured lies
And altered realties
You become wrecked inside your enfolded veracity
You reek of sorrow
Your lips burn from screaming into the shadows
And not receiving an answer
You’re truly alone in the hollow rapture of time
Suffocating in perfection
The need for escape will ring you dry
And know deep down that escaping is inevitable
You will always inhabit that skin tight cage
In the gathering dark
