Inspiration
Inspiration
is in the folds of the napkins
and the gold lining of the sun as it first rises over the mountains.
It is in the sound of train tracks
and footsteps across stone,
the squeak of an old swingset,
the taste of a meal well earned.
It is in the pictures we take to remember
the moments we’ll never forget.
It is in a handwritten letter,
a goodbye hug,
the simplest words said by someone you love.
I urge you to let these things feed you,
allow them to paint your soul an array of colors.
Allow them to tell your story
without speaking a word.
