Lost at Sea
Waves of longing
still crash over my existence sometimes
but then the tide lowers
and I don’t want you anymore.
You pulled me,
a rip current dragging me to you,
until it was too late;
I fell under your spell.
And then you pushed me,
wave after wave collapsing over me,
until I gravitated underwater.
Darling you were the ocean
and I was lost at sea;
I eventually learned to swim.
