Evermind
You know what I don’t understand?
How teens nowadays are more concerned about playlists and their favorite bands
Than they are about what’s happening in Iraq and Iran.
And it was a man
That took me by the hand
And made me understand.
He may specialize in insanity
But he’s disrupted the potency of vanity
And for that he deserves…
I don’t pop into or out of this manufactured world
With a complete almanac of the stars in my head
And it was a man
That stopped me from wasting my money.
“You can make your own.”
And for that he deserves…
I dare the Meter Police to pull him over.
Every second I am with him, his lessons they go over and over and over
In a Ferris wheel of movie allusions.
And it was a man
That stopped my trains from derailing
Put up a stop and let my thoughts
Disorganize into rows.
And or that he deserves…
To be surrounded by an evermind generation.
