River
A river flows
It rushes through the hollow canyon
The empty crevice
Of pain.
Of bitterness
It is mending.
Or trying to fix the ache.
Trying to awake
The love and life
Gone missing
Trying to revive
The wilted flowers
On the side
But it doesn’t
It courses
And it cuts
Deeper and deeper
I stare by the side
And I see the gap between
Me and what must be mended
Surely a bridge must be built
But for now I sit and I wait.
