The Broken Harm
he is a blue cluster of regard
staring with swollen eyes of a trembling bird
supple mitten claws reaching me.
I took pride in assuring him he could do me no harm

rubbing against granite would hurt me more
than unhitching his grip on my corners
i’d sooner die than hurt at his hands -
azure slopes, cobalt peeks
