Today's Sunday.

Time to pick out my church outfit.

I open my closet door and start

looking for a hat to match my outfit.

I keep those hats in a special box

called "Sunday Church Hats".

I find two that'll make me look good:

a yellow sun hat that'll make me look like a

bright happy person, topped with a

beautiful white flower for extra radiance;

Or maybe I'll wear my white and blue hat.

People always say I look like I'm on

cloud 9 wearing it.

I don't know.  What do you think?

Which hat should I wear to church?

The author's comments:

Some Christians go to church wearing "mood hats".  They'll go to church acting sweet, even with their siblings and always smiling until they get home. Then, they're a totally different person...It shouldn't be like that. Be who you say you are.  Actions speak louder than words.

I like the idea behind this poem; the childlike voice in the writing. However, I do agree with a few other comments. As I read I longed for more metaphorical language. But it really was lovely.

I like the idea behind the poem but I think it would be better if you had kept it shorter, inserted more metaphorical language, and got your point across more without the caption because when I first read it I was confused on the meaning behind it.
